AFTER-SCHOOL

About our after-school programs

Virtual lessons for Black girls that close the gap between abstract concepts and real-world application

Our after-school programs help Black girls aged 8–14 build strong foundations in math, coding, and digital literacy. Sessions are designed to support both beginners and returning students, combining theory and hands-on practice to spark curiosity, build confidence, and support learning in a culturally affirming environment where girls feel encouraged to participate fully.

Led by experienced instructors, each program encourages critical thinking, problem solving, and creative exploration. Whether students are new to computers or continuing from earlier workshops, they will find a welcoming space to grow their skills, ask questions, and strengthen their mindset.

Program format

Sessions take place once per week and last between 1.5 to 2 hours. Instructors guide students through core concepts at a steady pace while reinforcing learning through small tasks or workbook activities. These are required for students seeking certificates of completion.

What you’ll need

A computer with internet access is required to participate. No prior experience is needed. Our team is here to support and guide students every step of the way.

Stay connected

We update parents and guardians regularly by email and also, by text if opted in. Some sessions may be recorded for internal use, though recordings are not always distributed.

Representation matters

We partner with successful Black women STEM professionals who share their experiences and inspire the girls who attend our programs. These mentors help participants see new possibilities for themselves in technology and reinforce that they belong.
